How to choose the most beautiful wedding photo location:

1.  Prepare: Get ready!

Like every wedding fanatic, we also love Pinterest, but to get to know your own style we encourage you to go Pinteresting for an evening.

Pin anything loose and stuck, no matter how crazy it may seem. After a night’s sleep, look at the board with all the wedding photo locations you’ve pinned again, and look for the red line.

Is it a certain style of photos that appeals to you, a certain location, pose or setting?

Based on your Pinterest board, you can consult with the wedding photographer and look for the perfect location.

2. Choose the location: Wedding venue that suits your style

》 Personal Wedding Photo Locations

Every love story has its location. Where did you first meet? When was it really ‘on’?

The first date, the first night of dancing at a great party, the place where you met – your hangout ?, or maybe high school if you are high school sweethearts.

The auditorium where the prom took place, or in the school desks during math lessons.

This is the place where your love started or became official.

Choose the most beautiful place from the list of special locations, and the photo shoot will get an extra personal touch.

A beautiful picture with a beautiful story!

》 An exotic touch

Is a return trip to Africa just a bit outside your budget, but would you like exotic photos?

Then a safari park, a bird garden or a tropical courtyard is a great option.

For a fraction of the price you can create a great exotic setting.

Take entrance costs into account, but also ask for special discounts! Many parks and gardens have a special price for couples!

》 The industrial look

The industrial look is all the rage, and we understand why! A skate park, an old factory hall, a viaduct, a graffiti wall.

These are all locations that are in perfect contrast to a loving wedding. The contrast ensures that you stand out perfectly!

》 A romantic setting

A romantic setting is often in nature: on the beach, or in the woods or park.

But you can’t get the romantic setting with just a location. Also consider the light at the time of the shoot.

Your photographer knows what to do with this!

》 The farmer’s wedding

If you are a fan of the countryside, a farmer’s wedding is the theme.

This theme also lends itself to a great photo shoot.

Go for a shoot in the pasture between the cows, wearing  big rubber  boots.

It looks great with your wedding dress and creates hilarious scenes.

The stables, the hayloft, the farm itself or a nursery are also perfect settings for a real farmer’s photo shoot!

》 The traditional wedding

Are you a fan of a traditional wedding and do you want a matching shoot? Then it is worth taking a look at your own village or city.

Go for a shoot in the city and take pictures in small streets, bridges, old cafes, churches, and benches.

Very traditional and very cosy. Would you also like to look back years later to see how your city has changed? Then, this is a perfect shooting location for you.

》 A critical look

Visit the chosen location and choose a few places that appeal to you.

Make sure you are allowed to take photos at this location and there are no other activities during your wedding.

And although it may be your dream location because of the atmosphere or the emotional connection, we also advise you to look critically at whether the location is still missing something.

If necessary, decorate the location with accessories that radiate the atmosphere of your wedding.

Candles, bicycles, umbrellas, baskets, flowers, or even furniture! You can create your own Styled Shoot .

Ask your photographer or wedding planner for more ideas.

》 The season and the time

It may seem obvious, but sometimes we forget to take the season into account when planning long ahead.

A garden in the summer is of course very different from the same garden in the winter.

Both have their own charm, but in a completely different way.

The season is especially important if you’ve chosen an outdoor location.

Because although we prefer not to think about it, it is good to have a plan B in case of bad weather.

》 The time of day is also important when choosing the location.

Do you take photos during the day or at night? Each time of day has its own light, and it is important to take this into account.

In the morning and evening the light is quite soft, and in the evening you even have the golden hour!

In the middle of the day, the light is often very bright, making it difficult to pose well. Consult with your photographer for the perfect location and time.

》 Travel time

Finally, also pay attention to the travel time to and from the location.

The best is, if the wedding photo location is in the same place as the wedding venue.

If this is not the case, you should also take the travel time into account during the shoot.

For example, if you have scheduled 1.5 hours for the shoot, but have to travel 30 minutes to the location, you only have half an hour left to shoot!
